ABOUT US

Our EUREKA moment came the day we realised how much we have to learn from each other and everyone around us - friends, family, colleagues, classmates, the person next to us on the bus- everyone...everywhere. People are brimming with talent– some more developed than others, some more common than others, some more commercial than others, some more intricate than others, some more willing to learn and some more willing to teach. All in all, we realised that there is so much to learn and share. As the founding contributors and custodians of the flow of knowledge @ www.skillhippo.com we felt it’s apt to introduce ourselves!

Akshay Verma

Prior to SkillHippo, Akshay worked as a Leveraged & Acquisition Finance banker with UBS Investment Bank in London for over three years. Educated at Columbia University at the School of International and Public Affairs, Oxford University and St. Stephen’s College, Akshay has actively represented his educational institutions in international debating events, cricket and football. He has also championed social causes through his active involvement with several NGOs and UN organisations. Akshay brings a strong international perspective coupled with a dynamic skill-set to the team, and hopes to teach financial modelling at SkillHippo and learn to play bridge.

He also advises HomeSafe, a start-up that provides chauffeur-on-hire services in Delhi NCR and mentors his other entrepreneurial friends on a regular basis. A thorough livewire, Sambuddha led the Placement Cell, the Alumni Cell and was Editor of the first all-colour Yearbook at St. Stephen’s College. With a lot to teach, Sambuddha is extremely keen to learn Tibetan language.

Raghuveer Malik

Raghuveer joins SkillHippo as the first CEO. He has spent a majority of the last three years in corporate banking, dabbling with journalism and dreaming of enterprises he wishes to create. Having learnt poker and worked at an online betting website while at the London School of Economics; Finance & Economics at Warwick Business School; some mathematics, writing skills and theatre at St. Stephen’s College; and everything else along the way, he still really needs to learn how to dance. He’s signing up for the first class on SkillHippo!

Aditya Shukla

Aditya serves as a Strategic Advisor to SkillHippo. He is currently pursuing the MBA from Harvard Business School and has four years of management consulting experience at Bain & Company behind him. His work took him to different parts of the world and across multiple industries which has fuelled his passion to transform businesses and turbo charge organisations. Aditya manages to keep varied interests outside of his work and study. Besides being an avid wildlife enthusiast, he is also fond of exploring the global food and beverage scene. He was a voracious debater during his undergraduate studies at St. Stephen’s College and currently loves to read Haruki Murakami. He is very keen on taking master classes in dessert making and film editing.

Saikat’s interests also span varied activities outside work. A national scholarship holder in St. Stephen’s College, he has worked on nanoparticle synthesis under Prof. CNR Rao, the Science Advisor to the Prime Minister. Savouring soccer matches, getting immersed in video games, reading ebooks on the sly and a newfound love for dubstep music rank in that order in terms of his current preferences. He counts all-time high scores in "Halo 3" and "Gears of War 3" amongst his crowning achievements and wistfully yearns for the day Lionel Messi will emulate Diego Maradona in bringing the World Cup home!
