Setting 2011 behind us with a solid round of debauchery, we
started 2012 with the usual round of resolutions.
I resolve to get fit.
I resolve to learn French.
I resolve to devote more time to the Saxophone.
Our promises sounded hollow, even while we were writing them
down. There are so many hurdles to cross before we can even access new
knowledge. Where were we going to find the time to search for the right teacher
and the right class to fit our schedule? Even if we devote our weekends to
learning a new instrument, the process of visiting 10 teachers to find the
right one deprives us of our will to learn.
This is when we put our heads together and came up with
